About Me:

My name is Michelle Sutter-Hook. I have served 38 years in the public school system including grades form Pre-K to 3rd. I taught 20 years in the Fort-Mill School district in the kindergarden classroom. I was honored to receive Teacher of the Year Award in 2021.

My Education:

I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Lamar University and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Elementary Mathematics from the University of Houston. I received my National Board Cartification in Early Childhood and hold an ESOL endorsement from Winthrop University.

Fun Facts:

• I have jumped out of an airplane twice.

• I swam with a whale shark in Honduras near the islands of Utila.

• Scuba diving in Fiji was the BEST!

About Me:

Hello! I am Ms. Susan. I have been teaching and tutoring on and off for many years. I took time off from teaching to raise my 3 daughters who are now 20, 18, and 14 years old.

My Education:

I have a Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Education from San Francisco State University. I have taught middle school, 3rd grade and kindergarten and am currently a Kindergarten teacher at Kings Town Elementary School.

Fun Facts:

• I grew up on the coat of NC, but have lived the last 27 years in Northern CA.

• I moved here 6 months ago because 2 of my daughters attend Clemson University.

• I have a Golden Retreiver who is my 4th, and favorite, daughter.

About Me:

Hello, my name is Ms. Diane Dewland. I have worked in education for over 30 years, teaching in private & public schools. I have taught in Scotland, England and the US. I am currently teaching 2nd grade at Pleasant Knoll Elementary School.

My Education:

I have my Bachelor's in Education with Honors from Liverpool Hope University and Master's in Psychology from University of Phoenix. I have a teaching license for SC, NJ & Delaware.

Fun Facts:

• I foster and adopt Boxer Dogs. I'm on #16 so far.

• I play the flute. I was so good at the flute that I was offered  a scholarship, but I declined because I wanted to be a teacher.

• I love to knit & crochet.

About Me:

Hello, I am Ms. Nyomi. I have been educating students for the lat 6 years. I have worked as an 8th-grade Math teacher for two years. Between those years, I worked as an English teachers in Japan for four years. I currently teach Math in CMS at NOrtheast Middle School.

My Education:

I have a Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Math and Science Education from UNC Greensboro and a Master's in Middle School Math Education from UNC Charlotte. I am certified in Middle Grades Math and Science Education.

Fun Facts:

• I am a huge American football fan

• I can speak Japanese

• I love playing tennis

About Me:

Hello! My name is Ms. Ritu and I love teaching at Best Brains. I have been a teacher for the past 5 years and have been teaching at CMS schools for the after school enrichment program. Prior to being a teacher, I was a software engineer for about 10 years! And that was in Detriot, Michigan!

My Education:

I graduated with a Science degree (B.Sc) and then got my masters in Business Administration (MBA) and was proud to hold 2nd position in the University. That was in Rajasthan, India.

Fun Facts:

• I love to travel, cook food for my family and of course, sit in my yard with a warm cup of tea!

• I also exercise reguarlary and love to do Yoga.

About Me:

I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade in FMSD for 15 years. I have a total of 32 years of experience in teaching children in the public school setting.

My Education:

I received a BS in Elementary Education from Western Carolina University. I have taught and held teaching certificates in the following states. NC, Illinois, Texas, Ohio, SC, and Florida. My teaching experience ranges from Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Fun Facts:

• I am a mother of 3 sons.

• I enjoy playing board games with my family and friends.

• I also enjoy reading, movies, and visiting NASCAR tracks across the US.

About Me:

I love to travel and do everything outdoors! Hiking is my favorite activity along with paddle boarding! Also, I have 2 German Shepherds that I spend a lot of time with. I taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade for 5 years. I taught in NYC, YPA, Harrisburg Elementary School and PKES.

My Education:

I graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Childhood Education. I earned my Gifted and Talented endorsement in 2021.

Fun Facts:

• I am originally from New York and flipped a coin to move here! On on side of the coint, it was Charlotte, NC and the other side was Seattle, WA. It landed here and I have been here for 6 years!

About Me:

My name is Toni Young Cruickshank, and I am a North Carolina Educator at Rea Farms STEAM Academy where I am dedicated to teaching 4th grade. Born in Texas. My passion is continuing to work with out youth through education and community service.

My Education:

I earned my Bachelor of Science from North Carolina A&T State University and my MBA from Gardner-Webb University. I also enrolled in the CMS Teacher Residency Program, where I completed a year of intensive training to enhance my effectiveness as an educator.

Fun Facts:

• I was born in Brenham, TX, which is the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream!

• I have a dog named Memphis!
